Serengeti National Park

Size: 14,760 Km2 | Location: North Tanzania
One of the world’s largest wildlife sanctuary found in Tanzania. The spectacular migration of more than 1.5 million wildebeest occurs annually, the herd moves out end of may in wet season and drifts out of the west in the dry season; one group to the North and the other to the North-east heading towards the Northern river and to the Masai Mara in Kenya.

Katavi National Park

Size: 4471 Km2 | Location: Southwest, Tanzania
The Most difficult park to reach, located in the south of Mahale Mountains. Game includes: leopard, lion, roan, elephant, hippos, crocodiles, sable antelopes, Southern reedbuck and topi – inhabit the short grasses and thickets. Habitats including acasia bush, lakes and swamps, attracts more than 400 species of birds.
Best time to visit: July to October

Mahale Mountains Park

Size: 1613 Km2 | Location: Western Tanzania
Home to wild Chimpanzees. Viewing of the game is done on foot as there are no roads. Boats and planes are available for charter to see the game. Game includes: Elephant, Buffalo, giraffe, leopard, lion, eland, sable antelopes kudu and roan.
Best time to visit: May to October

Mikumi National Park

Size: 3200 Km2 | Location: 300 Km West of Dar-es-salaam
Lies in The North of Selous, 283km away from Dar-es-salaam. Main feature of this park is the Mikumi flood plains along with the bordering mountain ranges.

Ngorongoro National Park

Size: 260 Km2 | Location: Between Serengeti and Lake Manyara Parks
The Magnificent and stunning views are the hallmark of this wonder of the world. Home to the famous volcanic Ngorongoro crater which is the world’s greatest natural spectacle and largest unbroken caldera in the world, the Ngorongoro crater Conservation area covers a large amount of varied terrain between the Serengeti and lake Manyara parks. The steep sides of the crater has become a natural enclosure for a very wide variety of wildlife, including most of the species found in East Africa. Game includes: wildlife, Great Rift Valley, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Spice Island, Stone Town.

Lakes

Lake Tanganyika

Size: 32,890 Km2 | Location: East Central
Africa, Great Rift Valley Second largest fresh water lake in Africa and world’s second deepest. It holds volume of water seven times that of Lake Victoria, and while it is 677km long from north to south, its average width is only 50km. Paradise to divers, with over 350 species of fish, and with some finest game fish in Africa, including goliath tiger fish and Nile perch. Home to a reach history of fossil species and a thriving aquatic community.

Lake Nyasa

Size: 30,040 Km2 | Location: Southwest of Tanzania
Lake Nyasa, bordered by three countries, Tanzania, Malawi, and Mozambique. Third largest lake in Africa with 500km long and 75km wide. The lake has a distinctive characteristics: 14 rivers pouring their waters into the lake, and only one river flows out to the sea, river Shire. Some part of the lake offers nice beaches, Mahema beach located in the northern part of the lake is considered to be the best beach for people who like to swim. Other activities include: Local Canoeing and hiking. The lake is magnificently attractive and is rich in crocodiles and hippopotamus.

Lake Natron

Location: Northern Tanzania
Wild and remote Lake Natron located north of the Ngorongoro Crater and Highlands in the area of the African rift valley. To the south is the active volcano, ol Doinyo Lengai, and to the west, is the edge of the Serengeti national park. Lake Natron is one of the most alkaline lakes in the world. Home to millions of tiny water animals. the lake is haven for thousands of lesser flamingoes and is one of the most important flamingo breeding grounds on earth. To drive is a long but beautiful journey through the harsh territory. The lake is best accessed from an expedition camp route to or from the eastern Serengeti. This area is home to nomadic Maasai and is really impressive to see how they manage to live their lifestyle in such a harsh environment. This area is definitely for those looking for more adventurous safari as its hauntingly beautiful.

Lake Eyasi

Location: Eastern Rift valley, Africa
Located in South of the Serengeti National park and immediately southwest of the Ngorongoro Crater in the Crater highlands area of Tanzania. The lake and its surrounding is home to the maasai tribe, Datoga and other indigenous bushmen
